For an international student, preparing independently for an AP exam can demonstrate academic initiative, subject knowledge, and readiness for college-level work — particularly when the subject relates to the student's intended major.
AP results are one part of a holistic application and do not guarantee admission.

Every student begins with a diagnostic assessment. The recommended package depends on previous knowledge, school coursework, exam date, and capacity for independent study.
Exam Strategy
For students who are taking the AP subject at school, or who can manage the content review independently.
Best for: students with strong subject knowledge who primarily need strategy, practice, and feedback.
Comprehensive Preparation
For students who have some experience with the subject but need both direct instruction and exam preparation.
Best for: students who need to address content gaps while developing AP exam skills.
Independent Study Intensive
For students whose schools do not offer the selected AP subject and who need structured instruction across the course framework.
Best for: independent-study students who need comprehensive instruction, structure, and accountability.
Students must complete assigned reading, written work, and practice between sessions.
Where can students take an AP exam?
Students do not need to attend an AP school or complete an official AP course before sitting many AP exams. They do, however, have to arrange testing through an authorized school or test center.
Public AP testing options in Europe are extremely limited. The College Board currently lists authorized public test centers in only two countries within its Europe and Central Asia region.

AP preparation is offered separately from the mentorship programs. Students in the Pathway Mentorship plan their AP subjects years ahead; students in the Full-Cycle Program use them to reinforce an intended major. The English subjects pair naturally with the Academic Writing Course.
